SURVIVAL GUIDE to the POKEBATTLES NETWORK (EXTRA! AQUA VERSION SURVIVAL GUIDE!)

INTRODUCTION

AQUA VERSION is the oldest Fan Site, as the site proudly states. It has caused strange things to any webmasters who defeat him in the rankings, including Frost Version, the writer of this survival guide. So far, two versions have been apparently just abandoned after approcahing Aqua's usual #1 ranking. Black and Illumina. Illumina was first to go,
and has been abandoned ever since. The week after Black Version defeated Aqua Version, becoming the first fansite ever to rank above Aqua Version, it was abandoned unexpectedly. It has been revived, but Illumina Version is still dead. Apparently, using the powers of evil, Black Version, known for being a fansite about dead trainers, made Aqua lose it's internet connection. Then a strange series of things happened to all webmasters ever above Aqua Version basically, all with demands by a person who a Frost Version Espionage Articuno has identified as the Aqua Version Webmaster, previously known only as E.M.H.E.

ABBREVIATIONS

(any colour/color): A version. (add "Version" after the color/colour yourself)

colour: color (UK/US spelling)

Doompuff: Evil Rabid Jigglypuff of Doom (only when used by itself, eg. Shadow Doompuff is
just that)

Red Version: The main version, owned by JasonR, controls the network.

Yen: The local unit of currency over the universe, check the BANK on FROST BETA 2
for exchange rates and to exchange money from US dollars.

PLANET INDEXING SYSTEM

Planet names in this guide are identified using Frost Version's convention of
(version) (greek alphabet sound) (number) (moon number (optional))

Now to explain each part:
(version): The colour of the version, used to separate versions.

(greek alphabet sound): This identifys a group of planet's all orbiting around the sun of
this part of the name. Frost Version has 5 stars.

(number): Number of the planet, where a lower number is closer to the sun. Note that in the
pokebattles universe, being closer to the sun doesn't affect temperature.

(moon number (optional)): All planets have 2 moons, use I or II to state which one.

DANGERS

#1: DOOMPUFF!

Read this carefully, it could save your life:
Doompuff is a mutation of Jigglypuff created by the Aqua Webmaster for the purpose
of terrifying characters from other versions. It backfired, attacking it's characters
from Aqua Version itself. But it slowly has sent copies of itself into other versions,
starting at RED VERSION, even though that's where the pokebattles universe begun.
It mutated into RED DOOMPUFF, and proceeded to eat several characters, and terrify more. Luckily, through skillful thinking, the pokebattles portal to earth was destroyed.
Since then, doompuff's have been springing up all over the network, even Frost Version,
but Frost Version is safe since it was destroyed by co-ordinated effort from the entire
pokebattles universe. The Frost Version research team is working on a DOOMPUFF KILLER. Remember that these creatures can swim, surf, walk, run, or fly.

#2: TREES!

Trees, even though harmless on Earth, where you are right now, have turned into forests
around the universe, especially red version, and attack by dropping apples over their
opponent. There is only one report of catching this pokemon, at level 83 by Bob "That
Guy" Smith.

#3: WEEDLES!

A normally harmless weedle can defeat a MEWTWO in the pokebattles universe, since it is  a battle of humour, and not strength that determines the winner. Since MEWTWO is
obviously strong, it has a problem fighting these. BUG SPRAY repels WEEDLE's nicely,
buy it from the FROST DEPARTMENT STORE located on FROST BETA 2 for just 100 yens for a bottle which works for a week! Or just ask a BUG CATCHER.

AQUA VERSION SURVIVAL GUIDE

Aqua Version is a dangerous place, so avoid going there if possible. If you must, read on...
It is adviced you take a few DOOMPUFF antidotes, in case you're attacked. A STAKE usually is helpful, just make sure it isn't confused with a STEAK, which will send DOOMPUFF charging at you. Calling it POLE usually does the trick, though a few STEAKs in AIRTIGHT CONTAINER (to avoid detection) can be used a bait in emergency. A strong pokemon is a MUST-HAVE, in fact, you should have several of them. The Frost Webmaster's preference is:
Mewtwo
Weedle
Charizard
Articuno
Blastoise
Scyther
They are strong, or have sharp blades or points to attempt to 'pop' DOOMPUFFs.
They can be purchased from the DEPARTMENT STORE for an average of 100 yen a level. If your budget is tight, go for an ARTICUNO. They can peck a decent hole, plus they will fly you around. If it's even tighter, try a SCYTHER. They cost 10 yen a level and can cut a big hole in any DOOMPUFFs you encounter. They lack the ability to fly people around though. Remember that WEEDLEs are prone to theft by BUG THIEFs. A DOOMPUFF VEST will protect you from bites, but won't stop you from being eaten whole. Buy a STAKE HOLDER, and attach it to yuor belt. Keep the STAKE ready at any time.

SLEEP:

Safely sleeping in Aqua Version is virtually impossible, in fact, most people only come during the day. If you must, then:
1. Buy a fire pokemon for a light source. They are more reliable than torches since trees
are available in plenty around AQUA VERSION.
2. Keep your GAME BOY's sound ON. Listen for the "wild pokemon" sound.
3. Buy a nocturnal pokemon such as ZUBAT. A Charizard can stay awake at night if neccesary, buy another one to use during the day.
4. Use a SLEEPING BAG AIR TANK to avoid detection by DOOMPUFF in the first place by limiting breathing noises.
5. Buy the TM for teleport and use it if neccesary.
6. Sleep in a cabin, and have the pokemon lifting it keep the cabin afloat.

FOOD

Food is abundant in AQUA VERSION for two reasons:
1. To keep people who are constantly hungry, such as RobbyMV(B) in the version.
2. To feed DOOMPUFF as bait.

Always eat with a ring of pokemon defending you. DOOMPUFF have been known to attack undefended people while eating.

TRANSPORT

Using your own pokemon for transport is preferable, since you have full control over them. But if your transport pokemon gets eaten, there is a portal on AQUA EPSILON 23 to RED VERSION, then there, go to RED ALPHA 60 by POKEBUS and take the PORTAL to any other version. To get around AQUA VERSION itself, try TAXIs. They're designed to outrun doompuffs. Or go buy a pokemon from AQUA ALPHA 20. An Articuno or Zapdo's would be useful here, though women find it hard to ride Zapdos sometimes. Men have those problems too, just not as much.

NAVIGATION

If you're travelling through AQUA VERSION yourself, buy a AQUA MAP from GARY's SISTER. It's on the planet closest to the Aqua coloured star. It's a huge document, but it is very light and can be scrolled with buttons using Aqua(TM) technology (the one who created DOOMPUFF). If you see a giant pink balloon, RUN! It's a DOOMPUFF! If it's a green set of spheres, it's most likely a TREE. Move pokemon in to let them eat. Be careful though.

BUSINESS

The major technology company in each version is named after the version, except for ORANGE VERSIONs technology corporation, whose favored name was taken by a British telecommunication's company back on EARTH. If you're stuck alone and need a shop quickly, shout for a MERCHANT, not a BUSINESSMAN.

OTHER TRAINERS

Occasionally, you will see ASH KETCHUM and his girlfriend MISTY KETCHUM travelling around AQUA VERSION attempting to catch DOOMPUFFs or TREEs. If you need them to go away, tell MISTY that DUPLICA is attempting to get ASH off her. She'll run off anime style with ASH in panic.

You may meet the occasional BUG CATCHER. They use NETS to catch WEEDLES and CATERPIES, which unfortunately, are only found in BLUE VERSION, which you aren't in. It's another UNIVERSE. Then there are BUG THEIFs. They steal bug pokemon off unsuspecting trainers.

Then there's SABRINA. A powerful psychic, she uses SYPCHIC, no, PSYCHIC pokemon. If you need to fight them, damage them hard or they'll recover any damage taken. A MEWTWO is useful here, since it can RECOVER too.

EQUIPMENT

Vibration meter: use this to determine if a large round object is coming your way.
Rockets: safely developed by Frost(TM) technology, they are attached to your pokemon to make them fly very fast, but only for a short amount of time due to fuel restrictions.
Fuel tanks: hold rocket fuel under high pressure, a must-have for rocket users.
Disposable Vibrator: Use these to falsify your presence to DOOMPUFF, since it'll sense the vibrations.
Battery charger: use a fire pokemon to make these work. They work, very fast.
Continuous battery charger: same thing as battery charger, except designed to keep a stable flow of power by beeping when batterys are low so you can use a ember on it to recharge it.
Holy symbol: will warn of danger coming.
Airtight cabin: You should have this one if you plan to fly around on pokemon. Attaches to a flying pokemon.
Anti-Gravity module: Attach this to a flying pokemon, and then you can afford a larger cabin.
Multiple-pokemon cabin lift system: allows you to use more than one flying pokemon to lift a cabin.
Laptop:use your own computer, forget the ones at the pokecenter. These require batterys.
Sword: can slash open a DOOMPUFF if used by a trained user.
Speaker: will allow you to keep your gameboy on for longer with the sound on
Pokemon air suit: used by pokemon to breathe in the vacuum of space. A CHARIZARD also requires on on it's flame tail to survive. Don't use fire pokemon to lift cabins through space.
Pokemon radio: used by pokemon to communicate in space. Also used by trainers to communicate to pokemon while in cabin.
Pokemon food: when there is no natural food source around, feed your pokemon this stuff.
