Aqua Version's most used Characters:

Various Copyrighted Characters: Non-Pokémon:

Tankorr

Ryoga

MMGHAM

Other copyrighted Aqua used Characters: The Borg, © Paramount. Sailor Moon © some idiots. Ash, Sabrina, and various other Pokémon characters © Game Freak and Nintedo. Also…probably some others I can't think of right now.

Aqua Version Public Domain Characters:

Eric, MHE: Sadly, he's written terribly inconsistently, intelligence varying from battle to battle. He seems to be consistently a coward, but that's about it. It's a real shame the writer can't establish a real personality for him, and he shows no real signs of being insane so why on Earth was he locked in the asylum in the first place? Generally seems incapable of winning a match fairly he often has to resort to Gyarados, who doesn't always want to help.

Pokémon: Arbok, Jigglypuff, and Royal Kingler
Royal Kingler started off as a Krabby, and after many failed evolutions managed to become Kingler. It later evolved again in a live tournament, becoming Royal Kingler.
Arbok is probably Eric's best Pokémon, having a sense of humor, fighting and some well known rap skills.
Jigglypuff is the least obidient Pokémon, largely because it believes (and probably indeed does) it possesses superior tactical skill to its trainer.

Mike the Weird: Pretty much the same as his friend Eric except that he runs away from sticky situations even faster than Eric, and he has a pricey Haunter for a wacky sidekick rather than an ill-tempered Gyarados. I bet one wouldn't be able to tell the two apart if it weren't for the player notification on top and the labeling of who's speaking when it's an ally. The one and only distinction from his ally is that his mind is supposedly in a constant jumble, a constant state of metronome, and is able to make his Pokémon do some weird stuff.

Pokémon: Charmeleon, Haunter, and Magikarp.
Magikarp is one of his most used Pokémon, fortunately this thing is in no way an ordinary Magikarp, able to use some powerful moves.
Charmeleon was one of the "unkown" Pokémon in Mike's collection until the battle with Doompuff and it came out one of the only survivors. Now, if Mike just has one more maximize TM...
Haunter is more of an ally, and is actually one of Aqua's main characters.

Haunter: The surviving "wacky sidekicks" of Aqua Version, just as, weird as its human companion Mike, often demanding candy to bribe it into battle. Sometimes Haunter seems to live only to cause trouble for the main characters, helping them every now and then to keep the ally title somewhat reasonable. Gyarados was more of a fighter, not depending on bribes to go into battle.

Pokémon: none

Dark Warrior: Not much is known about this character, but he does seem to have a bit of honor and now has a grudge against everyone's favorite asylum escaper. Skilled with bladed weapons but not with Pokémon. It seems he wanted to challenge Eric and find out how he survived the Doompuff, thinking one who could do that must be a great warrior. He soon found out that Eric is just quick on his feet and blessed with dumb luck though. Angry at this fact he now seeks to kill Aqua's main character as so many others have.

Pokémon: Golbat, Muk, and Catapie.
Golbat seems cowardly while Muk is a strong fighter. Catapie on the other hand...well, is a Catapie.

The Evil Rabid Jigglypuff of Doom: Ah, this is what Aqua is known for. The sick, demented webmaster took the innocent, adorable Jigglypuff and turned it into the most evil thing possible. The Doompuff is a one-dimensional character, doing nothing but killing and maiming and destroying and…you get the idea. Doompuff made life in Aqua extremely hazardous thanks to its personality and invincibility.
Though trapped in the void between dimensions, the massive scaring Doompuff left on Aqua Version will never be entirely recovered. It did kill 95% of all life on the planet after all...

Pokémon: It once commanded Death and the Devil, but the Devil died and Doompuff was banished, thusly freeing death.

Unfortunate Souls killed by Doompuff (sometimes other means):

Fanboy: A nut that had been running around capturing things in Pokéballs that aren't Pokémon. One could accuse him of being a rip-off of the Popcorn Man. Really not much to this guy other than he was one of the more powerful Aqua Characters. His fanboy-ism of Transformers eventually was his downfall, as Tankorr turned him into a slab of metal.

Known Pokémon: Captain Kirk, Hulk Hogan, Jigglypuff, Lapras, Pikachu, Godzilla, Optimus and Rodimus Prime, Tankorr, Dragon Megatron, Megatron, Dinobot, Sailors Mercury and Mars, Ryoga, and quite a few others...

Brendan and PJ: These two showed up so rarely it's weird that they're even counted. We know they were both perverted, but where as PJ is a Sailor Moon…er, Mercury fan, Brendan is a Digimon fan. Brendan had become "Digiman" shortly before the second Aqua War Event and PJ committed suicide upon seeing the death of his beloved Sailor Scout (charging Doompuff is suicide ya know...)

Rookie: A really dumb character (even more so than most Pokébattle Characters) that's new to the job to boot. He never quite got the Pokébattles style and was killed by Doompuff in Aqua War Event #2 after surviving the slaughter of his fellow employees. A former member of the Demon Hunters Incorporated, he gave the job up after Doompuff annihilated the organization. He's tried to take up the Pokémon thing, but Eric beat him easily. That tells you all you need to know about his skill.

Pokémon: Rocket Launcher, Bazooka, Religous Guards...
All very ineffective against Doompuff.
