This page will, when it is completed, contain a thorough summary of as much of the PokéBattles timeline as I can. This includes start and end dates of Versions and story arcs, and the debuts of particularly prominent characters.

1999

  • 4/14: Publication date of the first PokéBattle on Red Version.
  • 6/16: Publication date of the first Fan Battle on Blue Version.
  • 9/21: Publication date of the first Aqua Version Pokébattle. Presumed beginning of the Network.
  • 10/25: Publication date of the first PokéBattles fanfic, Versions Collide, on Red Version, setting the standard for that alternate narrative mode thereafter used for many major or dramatic events in fan versions network-wide.

2000

  • 1/16: First appearance of the Evil Rabid Jigglypuff of Doom in Aqua Version.
  • 5/4: Publication date of the first Flame Version Pokébattle. Presumed start of Flame Version.
  • 5/10: First appearance of Red Doompuff, in Red Version Battle #57.
  • 6/26: Publication date of the first Dark Version Pokébattle. Presumed start of Dark Version.
  • 10/15: Publication date of the first prequel battle of Azure Version, developing from the earlier Unofficial Azure Version.
  • 6/26: Publication date of the second PokéBattles fanfic, Doompuff Armageddon, on Red Version. Doompuff and Red Doompuff are trapped.
  • 12/31: Publication date of the first half of the third PokéBattles fanfic, The Saga Concludes, on Red Version.

2001

  • 1/1: Publication date of the second half of the third PokéBattles fanfic, The Saga Concludes, on Red Version. End of Old Red version. Immortus takes control from Jason Ross as author of Red Version.
  • 5/8: Publication date of the first battle of Blood Version to be dated (#13).
  • 7/1: Estimated publication date of the fourth PokéBattles fanfic, Time Crusade, on Red Version. Little Red Writing Hood takes over writing Red Version.
  • 8/19: Publication date of the last published battle (#31) of Azure Version.

2002

  • 4/4: Latest possible publication date of the fifth PokéBattles fanfic, War of Worlds. Matt Beswick takes over writing Red Version.

2003

  • 7/23: Publication date of the last published battle (#48) of Flame Version.
  • 11/11: Publication date of the last published battle (#111) of Aqua Version.

2004

  • 4/23: Publication date of the last published battle (#42) of Blood Version.
  • 5/7: Publication date of the sixth and last PokéBattles fanfic, Knightfall: The NeverEnding Fanfic. Garry Kasparov takes over writing Red Version, ending a hiatus.
  • 5/27: Date of the final update to the PokéBattles Network, listing Lavender, Gold, Wave, Rusty, and Liquid Versions as the top five.
  • 10/31: Publication date of the Halloween 2004 battle on Red Version. This was the last battle published on the original site for the next five years, and was really the end of the format as it once was.

2006

  • 12/10: Publication date of the first PokéBattles: Advance battle, of Digital Version.

2007

  • 1/25: Publication date of the last PokéBattles: Advance battle, of Crimson Version.

2009

  • 4/6: Publication date of the first battle (in Pearl Version) of PokéBattles: 10th Anniversary Edition.
  • 4/14: Publication date of the only two official battles (in Diamond Version) of PokéBattles: 10th Anniversary Edition.
  • 10/26: GeoCities goes down, excluding GeoCities Japan. Most surviving PokéBattles versions are lost.

2010

  • 2/8: PokéBattles: 10th Anniversary Edition officially enters hiatus, allegedly due to a lack of Sliders DVDs.

2014

  • 2/23: Worm / SB Version debuts with Worm Version #1.
  • 5/25: Worm Version's most recent battle, #20, is published.

2015

  • 12/17: SB Version's only battle to date, #1, is published.

2017

  • 4/09: Pokebattles.com is recovered in archive mode.

2021

  • 5/27: Foxfire Version debuts with Battle #1.
